I can see the gears turning, grinding away, progressing in their circular, logical manner; it's true - we can all feel them, yet the face of it all is lost to us, even the immediate is often hidden by a layer of grease and paint - lies sometimes, sometimes just our very own natural hopes and dreams, often even the most earnest attempts at objectivity and systematic approaches fail, merely scratching at the very surface of the un-truths or illusions - failure is the human legacy, much like adaptation, pain and suffering - taboo subjects for most, having succumbed to a complacent state of ignorance, supported by the system that feeds off the deaf, and threatens to be supported entirely by itself - a vicious circle - blind leading the blind. And yet, among the charade of modern daily life, something honest and human survives, persists in the minds, proverbial hearts - emotional epicentres - a compassion, some protective mechanism which, even when placed within a world of subjective minds manages to hold society together, granting us all no small blessing. The altar of greed never goes clean of fresh blood - lives, people, even time lost - traded away for slight comforts - a thicker blanket for a greater sense of security; though in truth we all know, Greed takes more than it's fair share...

When you stare into the looking glass, you think you see a reflection...that's not true. You actually see a different world, a world only visible in those mirrors, in the dark. That's my world. The world of shadowed reflection...a world of cold darkness.

Well the options for me at the end of this academic year are seeking employment or higher education (Uni), so I'm making an application to study physics at Oxford! And to 5 other places, just in case...

At least you won't be bored, thanks to that literature (Twilight Zone! :O_o: ) , while waiting for your computer to be up-and-running - I'm sort of reading up on the topics I'll end up studying during the physics course, but it gets a little repetitive once you've read one or two books on chaos...

Best of luck with your move to Uni, and more immediately, getting your computer working again!
~ebonyshadow:iconebonyshadow: Oct 11, 2006, 5:30:47 PM
I hope your applications go well; I'm glad I didn't bother with them since I chose to go to a community college here for my general classes (because it's much cheaper and just as good), though I will have to in the near future, I'm sure since I plan on moving on to a University within the next year or so.

Where do you hope to go for University?

I'm doing well, though not having an internet connection isn't fun not only because I can't check my email, but because I have a hard time doing papers that require research. Ah well, hopefully I'll get my computer fixed soon and in the meantime I'll finish reading many of the books I am in the middle of reading.

Happy birthday, Thor.

Well enough :), I'm in the second year of sixth form, so Uni next year, and the aplications have deadlines which run out sooner than I'd like - it's all a little chaotic at the moment. I will no doubt keep up with dA, though I may take considerable amounts of time to reply
:glomp:
And more importantly, what of yourself - how have you fared?
~ebonyshadow:iconebonyshadow: Sep 18, 2006, 1:12:27 AM
How are you? Does school have you tied down? I thought that you were supposed to start college this year, but I could very well be wrong. Well, I hope you're doing well and I hope you'll keep up with dA if you have the time for it :D
